Time to believe in Hope :
The morning was calm but as the day rose high, the cluttered mind somehow couldn’t win the race.
“I have the power to bring out tears,
While I flare the passion to flourish the smiles;
I have the courage to turn on the melancholy,
So, I have the audacity to ignite the belief;
I thrive in pessimism,
While I exist in optimism;
I can make one take his life,
While I can make one live a life!
Well, these two are “Agony and Hope”, the choice is ours, whom do we wish to hug!
Living in a metro city of Delhi, I’ve witnessed lots of juggled up emotions. The things we see, the news we read, the experiences we get, all make or break our thoughts. I’ve felt shattered, and I’ve also felt victorious. But one thing this turbulent metro has always taught me is to keep the flare of “Hope” alive, on top of my mind.
Watch this Ted Talk and welcome Hope in your heart and mind :
Robert H. Schuller once quoted, Let your Hopes, not your hurts, shape your future!
And that’s so true, what makes our present and future is the hope and optimism we believe in. If you feel it is just not possible, watch out this TEDx video of Peta Murchinson, a mom, who is hopeful despite her plight!
Did it bring in tears yet hope in your minds? I’m sure it would have.
Here are 3 simple ways how to find hope when you are depressed :
1. This phase will pass on :
Time is never stagnant, keep on reminding yourself that this present will be passed and you will welcome the future soon. The suffering you might be facing will pass on, very soon, just like the past you’ve thrived on. Remember, each day you welcome is precious. You ought to make it more meaningful. Give your family and friends more love and hugs. Be grateful for everything you have and thank God for it. You’ll feel happy, I bet!
Read on the story of a child you lost her hearing power when she was not even a year old.
2. Shift your focus on something you love, hear motivational stories :
A simple 10-minute break amongst those flowers can give you the much-needed dose of hope and love. They bloom and they die, but they spread their fragrance and add up beauty to the lives of others when they fully blooming. That’s an inspiration. Adore the beautiful sunset and sunrise you might have been missing daily.
The crux is when in despair, go somewhere, do something that gives you peace. It can be meeting a close friend over a coffee or even sketching out your emotions.
If you’re still not able to walk out of the despair, I’ll suggest you hear out those TedTalks/Stories of Hope and optimism on Youtube. Believe me, in the end, you’ll be much happy with what you have and your despairs will look very small to you. You’ll feel blessed with your life.
3. Random act of Kindness :
It works like magic. Help a child earn his bread or help an elder to cross the road. Appreciate your colleague for his/her hard work or volunteer at special kids school. Making even the smallest difference in the life of others brings a smile in your own life. Kindness procreates the feelings of Hope and this is what we need as a daily dose.
Dalai Lama has always focussed on Kindness, which is the essence of mankind. The reason being, it creates confidence and hope. You are the hero of your life, take charge of your life positively.
Be Happy and always Be hopeful of the miraculous future unfolding daily!
Much Love, Jhilmil
