How to Treat Your Baby’s Nasal Congestion with Nasobuddy™?

How to treat a baby’s cold/Nasal congestion at home?

Treating your baby’s stuffy little nose due to Nasal congestion at home can often be tough. Whatever we may do to protect our babies and kids, due to seasonal changes, Nasal Congestion is a constant worrisome factor in our lives. As kids grow, some master the art to blow their noses and clean their nasal passages for some relief. But, congestion affects babies the most, since they are obligate nose breathers, with smaller nasal passages for the first few months of their life. It impacts breathing, which directly affects feeding cycles. The uncomforted leads to a cranky crying baby. The problem does aggravate, for a breastfeeding baby, as a congested baby can have real problems latching on.

When I talk about my experience, I’ve least exposed my child to over-the-counter cough and cold medications, until he turned 4. And this has been well proven by the American Academy of Pediatrics too!

The earlier a child learns to blow the nose, the better life becomes during congestion. Show them how to exhale and blow. But while they are too young, then what? So, the challenge that comes across for a parent is how to treat that stuffy nose and bring relief to babies and toddlers?

5 Suggestions to treat your baby’s Nasal congestion:

1. Steam:

We cannot expect babies to inhale steam directly. Try using a humidifier or a vaporizer, as it moistens the air. This moist air, loosens the mucus, resulting in decongesting their nasal passages. During summers, I even used to make my child sit in a steamy bathroom (along with his toys). Ensure that you have readied it before your child sits in the tub.

2. Nasobuddy™ Cough and Cold Balm /Nasobuddy™ Rub:

We all have used rubs, and many times mistakenly even used these rubs with menthol and camphor on babies. But did you know that the presence of Menthol & Camphor in most of the rubs, can rather result in respiratory distress in babies and toddlers less than 2 years? Try reading the studies and even directions on the rub you use. And this is why I have been using “Nasobuddy” for my child.

Nasobuddy™ Cold and Cough Balm for babies and Toddler’s Nasal Congestion:

Just like other rubs, Nasobuddy™ Cough and Cold Balm is a rub, but, it is free of any irritants like Menthol and Camphor.

Thus it is perfectly suitable for babies and toddlers suffering from Nasal Congestion. Nasobuddy™ Rub is an all-natural remedy, not just for babies, but for the whole family.

The formulation consists of six 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils. Its formulation consists of Dill, Coriander, Chamomile, Lavender, Eucalyptus and Patchouli, which have seen the mentions in our traditional Indian Medicinal science.

  • Dill leaf is miraculous and so is its Essential Oil. Its Essential oil has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine properties. These natural properties are anti-congestive and help in healing respiratory health and boost the Immune system too. Having a better immunity always helps in fighting against cold.
  • Chamomile Essential oil is one of the most essential and traditional oil to help babies sleep. It relaxes the muscles and can even minimize colic symptoms.
  • Patchouli Essential oil is derived from an aromatic herb and has anti-inflammatory properties. Thisin turn, boosts immunity and helps in treating inflammatory diseases.
  • Eucalyptus Essential oil has long been used & considered to ease congestion. It removes the symptoms of cough and cold and even sinus congestions. Do you know that this essential oil is also used in steam baths for nasal decongestion? The credit goes to the compound cineole (which is safe) in Eucalyptus Oil.
  • Lavender Essential oil, is one of the most popular choices for relaxation and sleep. It can help babies, with stuffy noses, sleep during nights. It helps to reduce anxiety, stress, relax the muscles and settle into a restful night’s sleep.
  • Coriander Essential oil is highly rich in immune-boosting antioxidants, which in turn fight any inflammation. It also helps in fighting infections, due to its anti-microbial properties.

Benefits of Nasobuddy™ Cold and Cough Balm :

Now that we’re aware of the constituents and its benefits, here is what this cold and ought balm does,

1. Improves Sleep:

Its application relaxes your baby and helps in better sleep during those congested nights.

2. Treats Cold and cough:

This Ayurvedic mixture of essential oils are effective for 8 hours. It helps in cough relief and turn helps in soothing a baby for better sleep.

This balm is safe even for Newborns (since its all-natural and does not has Camphor and Menthol).

How to Use Nasobuddy™ for Nasal congestion in babies?

It is a chest rub and you need to apply it liberally on the baby’s chest (Not on the nostrils or nose). I also apply it on the back and to my baby’s feet. Massaging this balm on the baby’s feet has been very effective for us. It is based on the science of Reflexology, as Rubbing this balm from toes to heels calms the nervous system. Post massaging just before sleep, we make our child wear socks. This helps in better absorption of essential oils and relieves cough and congestion.

Is Nasobuddy™ suitable for babies?

Yes, it is suitable for babies 3 months+ and can be used for older children and even adults.

You can buy Nasobuddy Cold and Cough Balm from Amazon [Click here]. You can also start with the free 1gm sample. All you need to do is simply send an email to iwantit@nasobuddy.com .

3. Nasal Aspirator and Saline Drops:

Nasobuddy™ also have a pediatrician recommended nasal aspirator, which can be very useful in Stuffy nose, to clear up the blocked airways. You can add a few drops of saline water in babies nose and then clear up the loosened mucus with the help of Nasal Aspirator. This is an effective way, more so just before feeding.

4. Sleeping in an upright position:

Making your child sleep in an elevated position helps in better sleep. Lying down on a flat surface makes congestion even worse. You can put a soft pillow below your baby’s head, at the time of sleep. Don’t put hard pillows though.

5. Encourage intake of more fluids:

Fluids thin the mucus, so their nose won’t be that stuffy as it was before. Try to give your child lukewarm water, fresh juices, soup, and more fluids. For babies less than 6 months, no extra fluids are required apart from breastmilk.
