Rudolph the red nosed reindeer : Story and Christmas Craft for kids

From the time I was a tiny bee till now, when I’m a mama bee, I have loved 2 Christmas songs the most. One of them is- “Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose“, which I rhyme for more than half of the year, lol. And so, naturally, my preschooler is also in love with it and he loves varied emotions that goes into understanding this Santa’s reindeer song. Since we (mama n son)have planned to make our Christmas Ornaments by ourselves, so while making the Santa’s Rudolph reindeer and carving his sleigh, I narrated him a beautiful story.

Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer Christmas Story :

Santa, who lived in the North pole, had a sleigh, which was pulled by eight reindeers.

Did you know the name of those 8 reindeers?

Well they were, “Dasher n Dancer n Prancer n Vixen, Oh Comet n Donder n Cupid n Blitzen”, all with distinct personalities. Now recalled hearing them out in the Santa’s Reindeer song?

So, where did Rudolph go?

Well, he was not in the Santa’s Reindeer fleet and he lived in a Reindeer village in North pole. It is said that while delivering the presents, Santa saw a glow emanating from the Rudolph’s house. His reindeer friends used make fun of him and called him various names due to his extra shiny nose. they also never let poor little Rudolph join them in their games. So Rudolph, used to be at home sometimes really very sad.

Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it, you’d even say it glowed. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph, join in any reindeer games.

Santa discovered Rudolph due his glow but had never planned to let Rudolph pull his sleigh. One foggy Christmas eve, there was lots and lots of fog. After the elf’s loaded the presents in Santa’s sleigh, Santa could see that there was a dense fog engulfing and none of his reindeers could see the path. Fearing that he may get delay in his Christmas eve gifting rounds, Santa reminded of Rudolph.

Santa immediately went to Rudolph and asked him ” Rudolph, with your glowing nose, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight”?

“Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say, Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight”?

Rudolph, being a humble reindeer, immediately agreed to help Santa on the Foggy Christmas Eve. He led the team of Reindeers as his nose illuminated the foggy path. Santa was very proud that he was able to complete his rounds and tradition on Christmas Eve. And thus Rudolph became Santa’s favourite reindeer. All his fellow reindeer friends loved and praised Rudolph and he was treated as a hero!

Then how the reindeers loved him, As they shouted out with glee..Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, You’ll go down in history!

And thus Rudolph is reminded every Christmas season.
